Keep your aggregate equipment running like new

The aggregate industry relies on the uninterrupted operation of four heavy-duty aggregate equipment subsystems. This equipment supports the primary production processes of crushing, screening, material handling, and washing used to create saleable products. However, keeping your equipment up and running is a constant challenge, especially in the harsh operating conditions of aggregate production .

Reliable and properly functioning equipment is an RMS specialty. We are an aggregate solutions provider dedicated to keeping your equipment in tip-top shape, maximizing its uptime and usability well beyond the initial purchase. And because we service all manufacturers’ equipment, we are your one-stop provider regardless of where you purchase your equipment.

Aggregate equipment types

There are several equipment classes in a typical aggregate operation, and RMS’s Aggregate Team has solutions for every phase of aggregate production. You can rely on RMS for new equipment sales, replacement parts and spares, and post-sale service, in warranty and out.

Most aggregate production starts with the crusher, reducing the size and shape of the raw materials to meet specific product requirements. All crushers use impact or compression to break down the raw material into progressively smaller sizes and shapes.

Crushing stages

Depending upon the operation and desired final product, crushing involves some or all of these stages: primary, secondary, tertiary, quaternary, and final. Crushers reduce material using either a back-and-forth or rotating motion.

Crushing methods

The types of crushers available include the following material reduction processes:

Jaw — Think of large, flat plates opening and closing on the raw material. These crushers are used for the initial or primary crushing of the raw material.

Gyratory — The crushers use a conical head, spinning with an eccentric motion to reduce the feedstock further, although they can be used as the primary crushing operation.

Cone — A conical-shaped head spinning inside a housing reduces the feedstock by compression. These crushers are used in secondary and smaller crushing.

Impact — These crushers spin vertically (VSI) or horizontally (HSI) and achieve material reduction using hammers and throwing the material inside the crushing housing.

The RMS Aggregate Team sells and services every type of crusher, making us your single point of contact when something breaks or needs replacement.

A screening process between crushing stages sorts the aggregate into different sizes for further reduction or into a finished product. The most common screening methodology is a vibrating, configurable screen operating over a bin.

These invaluable systems get your raw material from point A to point B, connecting each production stage. Without properly operating conveyors, your aggregate production might suffer a serious slowdown.

Washing Equipment

Quarrying and reducing the raw material create dust that many purchasers do not want in their final product. Washing equipment removes the dirt, dust, and silt accumulated throughout the aggregate creation process, providing your customers with a clean product. Washing the product also helps to mitigate site dustiness during production and may be more than a nicety; it may be a requirement of your operating permit.

The RMS aggregate team

Individual systems working as a whole

Aggregate equipment is unique in how it works and what it takes to keep it operating. However, these disparate systems must function as an integrated process to maximize output and ROI. Failures at any stage can cripple or stop production, sending workers home until the problem is fixed and slowing order fulfilment. The RMS Aggregate Team is dedicated to serving the aggregate industry, ensuring maximum uptime and output.

The right services, capabilities, and people

We’ve talked about our services and capabilities. But those are only as good as the people providing them, and our team is the best! We are devoted to the aggregate industry, enabling us to develop detailed knowledge about what works and what doesn’t.

  • Sales representatives who are experts in their equipment’s capabilities and applications.
  • Parts and service representatives who understand the aggregate business, both in the field and in the shop. Our team members deliver on-demand services and can become an on-site resource. If the situation requires off-site attention, we have unmatched hydraulic and fabrication people to solve your problem in the shortest time possible.

Aggregate equipment component sales

The RMS Aggregate Team is committed to extending the life of your aggregate equipment. This equipment is expensive; that said, we understand the importance of maximizing mileage to improve your ROI.

Here’s how we make this happen for our clients. First, we can service and replace individual components of your aggregate equipment, from conveyor rollers to crusher hammers to hydraulics.

We carry thousands of new parts for nearly every manufacturer. These parts include parts manufactured by the industry’s most trusted brands, including Komatsu, SENNEBOGEN and 40+ more. In addition to these original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts, we also carry non-OEM, aftermarket and new surplus. If we do not have it, we’ll access our network and track it down for you.

New, used, or refurbished - let our team help you decide

In many cases, a used part is the perfect solution, especially when you consider that it can cost a fraction of a new part. All our used parts carry a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. For refurbished parts, we have a service and maintenance department specializing in refurbishing components for reuse in the field. We guarantee that all our refurbished parts will fit and operate properly for 90 days, allowing you to buy them with confidence. Also, with today’s supply chain issues, used or refurbished items often are the best route to the shortest process interruption.

Need it fast?

We are located minutes from the Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport. This convenient proximity to every major overnight and heavy lift delivery service means we can get your part to you as fast as possible, regardless of where you are around the world.

Used Aggregate Equipment

Just as used parts are the perfect solution in certain situations, used equipment, properly refurbished and prepared, can be precisely what your operation needs. And, supply chain issues mean extended lead times for new equipment are the new normal for the aggregate industry, at least for the near future.

We have an extensive inventory of used aggregate equipment ready to get to work on your job site. Be sure to check our website for a quick and easy way to see if what you need is available. You can also sign up to receive email notifications about new inventory additions. This is useful when you are planning for future requirements. For specific inquiries, we are happy to talk to you directly.
