Qualifications/Skills:

  • Diesel Mechanic degree preferred or 10+ years heavy equipment maintenance experience.

  • Thorough understanding of core RMS parts transactions and their related financial, G/L accounting impacts.
  • Transactional expertise including parts sales, inventory adjustments, dealer exchange programs, core charges, purchase orders, and receipts, consignments, part manufacturing and general part master maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • Programming, setup, and operation of CNC fabrication equipment following engineering, prints, drawings, and documentation.
  • Perform cutting operations using lathes, milling machines, grinders, and line boring equipment.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and other written instructions, diagrams, and verbal instructions to perform assigned tasks accurately.
  • Select appropriate tooling and machines to perform machining jobs.
  • Use of hand tools, air tools, grinders, and other special deburring tools to remove sharp edges and prep parts before and after machining.
  • Inspect workpieces using calipers, micrometers (outside, inside, and depth), bore gages, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Complete machining to project specs, some with extremely tight deadlines.
  • Comply with all safety requirements to maintain a safe work area for you and your co-workers.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • 2-year machine tool diploma or degree from a community college or technical program. Equivalent work experience directly related to machining may also be acceptable.
  • Proficient at setup and operation of lathes, milling machines, and CNC fabrication equipment.
  • Understanding of geometric dimension and tolerances (GD&T)
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and determine workpiece dimensions.
  • High school diploma/GED and must be 18 years of age or older.

Our continued growth has created the opportunity for our Duluth, MN location to add Field Service Technicians to perform service duties at this location. We are seeking experienced Construction or Aggregate Field Service Technicians who are qualified to serve our customers in this area. In this position, you will be equipped with a field service truck, and will work in conjunction with our Duluth, MN facility, reporting to the Duluth Service Manager.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a Field Service Technician for an OEM heavy equipment distributor. This position requires exceptional skills in hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting, and repair of heavy construction equipment. RMS desires employees that can build and maintain solid customer relationships, are self-directed, and can demonstrate safe working habits. A strong work ethic along with the ability to work outside in the elements are also required.

You will be responsible for a high standard of quick response time to customers and will be required to have a high sense of urgency in prioritizing customer repairs.

Resident Field Service Technician – Fort Dodge, IA

RMS is seeking an experienced Construction or Ag Field Service Technician to reside within the ten (10) counties in NE Iowa. In this position, you will work within a close proximity of your residential area and will be equipped with a field service truck. This position will work in conjunction with our Des Moines, Iowa facility and will report to the Des Moines Service Manager.

The ideal candidate will have five (5) years’ experience as a Field Service Technician for an OEM heavy equipment distributor. This position requires exceptional skills in hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting, and repair of heavy construction equipment. RMS desires employees that can build and maintain solid customer relationships, are self-directed, and can demonstrate safe working habits. A strong work ethic along with the ability to work outside in the elements are also required.

In this role, you will be the service repair contact of RMS for the customers you serve in your geographic area, but may also be dispatched to other geographic areas as needed. You will be responsible for a high standard of quick response time to customers, and will be required to have a high sense of urgency in prioritizing customer repairs.

You must possess a CDL driver’s license with a clean driving record, the ability to pass a drug test, background check, and fitness for duty physical. General computer and paperwork processing skills are also essential in this position.
