Getting my degree at Kirkwood Community College while interning at the Cedar Rapids branch prepared me for my job as a service technician. I was able to go to school locally, get the training I needed, and start the career I wanted on the right path. Plus, with tuition reimbursement, I was able to get school paid for while some of my friends are still paying off their student loans.

FINANCIAL PROGRAMS
Start your career debt free.
Student loan debit is one of the main factors in deciding on a college program. The thrill of graduation and starting a career can quickly fade once it comes time to pay student loans, and it can set back your financial clock. Road Machinery & Supplies Co. understands this, and that is why we offer a tuition reimbursement program for diesel technicians joining our company after graduation. Through scholarships, RMS will reimburse up to 100 percent of tuition costs based on grade point average over a 36-month period. We see this as an investment in the foundation of our team, and a way to ensure our new technicians being their career with the best financial support possible.

FOR PARENTS
In-demand careers, stable futures
Parents want what’s best for their children. When it comes time to decide on college, what would you want their college experience to be? Four years of random classes followed by a job search in an uncertain market, or an immersive two-year program that gives them to tools for a long career in an industry that requires their services, pays back their tuition, and guarantees them a job?
Get a head start towards financial freedom
A four-year degree has long-been championed as the best pathway to a career. But at what cost? The cost is debt… lots of it. The average graduate with a four-year degree must struggle through years of loan repayment. Setting their road to financial freedom back years.
Earning a two-year degree in diesel technology and becoming a diesel technician is one of the best ways to start earning real money right away. With tuition reimbursement, paid internships while in school, a tool program, and a beginning salary at $50,000 – diesel technicians position themselves to start earning and saving right away.
A well-rounded education
Road Machinery & Supplies Co. partners with local technical college in to train and hire future technicians. The road to earning that degree includes so much more than just training, it is a full college experience. Graduate of our partner schools earn an Associate of Art’s degree – which is a well-rounded set of credits that can be transferred to a four-year school. Most of these colleges also offer many other elements crucial to the typical college experience like on-campus living, athletics, arts, and a thriving campus life. Choosing an education in diesel technology isn’t just about the career waiting for graduates, it’s about a complete college experience.
